Hi, I’m Joyce Cheung, 30 years old and based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I have a big passion for traveling, gaming and being creative. Since childhood I’ve always been creative, open to experiment and build stuff together, like furniture from Ikea. I also really love reading books like Asian literature, light novels, sci-fi or self-help books.
What I find important is to learn from different cultures, because nowadays all kinds of cultures are merging together. I believe that if you’re unable to understand and empathize with the people around you, you can never improve or create products for the right people.
My friends see me as a fun, friendly, open-minded and creative person. They also think that I’m always very dedicated and determined to reach my goals. They also see me as a very adventurous person who is wise due to learning so much during all my journeys.
Bonus fact
For my minor (2020) I went on an exchange program to Seoul, South Korea, where I attended SEOULTECH university. During my 5 months stay in Korea, I learned a lot of the Korean culture, history and cuisine. I also met a lot of people and friends who each taught me pieces of their culture. I also picked up some of the Korean language.
Work regulations
As a designer I like to have open communication with the team and also the clients. This makes the workflow more smoothly. Currently I've affinity with the programs Adobe XD and Figma.
From my previous internship I've received positive feedback as an employee. They think I'm very creative and also very social, whereas I know how to ease up the atmosphere at the office.
